Errors in the practice of yoga
Suppose you decided to start working on yourself and chose a yoga practice for this. But doing it yourself or under the guidance of an inexperienced instructor, you can make mistakes, and then all your practice will go the wrong way. Instead of the benefits of yoga will bring you only harm. These are signs that you are doing something wrong while doing yoga.
There can be no doubt – you are doing something wrong. Sprains, sprains, fractures, ligament breaks – what kind of yoga is there … If you do any asana incorrectly, overstress or strive to achieve perfect performance as soon as possible – injuries are inevitable. Injured, you will be pushed back for a long time. The recipe is only one – do asanas correctly. Check out the video tutorials, do not overdo it, find a teacher!
General overvoltage condition.
All 24 hours a day you feel monstrous tension, as if working in a quarry with a slaveholder. Despite all the attempts to relax and unwind, you do not succeed. You are exhausted both physically and mentally. Apparently, you chose the wrong training mode. The asanas you do are too complex for your level of training. Change the schedule of classes, try to compensate for some asanas by others, for example, strength exercises balance exercises for stretching. Pay more attention to school, work, household, temporarily shifting the focus of your life to something else.
You have hallucinations, you see something and hear something that no one sees or hears? It seems to you that you are on the verge of finding wonderful siddhas? Most likely, this is a dangerous self-deception. Not to mention that such “superpowers” are dangerous for the psyche, finding extraordinary talents is not the goal of practice. Suspend at the time of training, eat meat properly (if you are not a convinced vegetarian, of course), go to the cinema on a Hollywood comedy more stupid – in a word, ground well. After all, before the loss of human form you are still very, very far away.
A sense of self-importance.
This is my favorite trap :). You begin to think that only those who practice yoga are real people, and the real one among them is you. Who else, except you, can boast of such dedication and zeal? And all the others are just biological debris, bipedal primates, mammals. In this case, it is useful to focus your attention on your shortcomings and unfinished moments, making efforts to eliminate them, and for other people, on the contrary, try to find advantages that you lack. After all, from any person, no matter how useless it may seem at first glance, one can learn something!
Feeling powerless and feeling like a total loser.
Here the recommendations are opposite: it is necessary to carefully record our slightest achievements, monitor progress, however small it may seem at first glance, to compare yourself not with others, but with yourself some time ago. In addition, it will be useful to get acquainted with the biography of the Buddhist Saint Milarepa, who, despite all his abilities, must have extraordinary patience and patience in order to pass his way.
If there is a forced break in classes, and at the same time you experience discomfort, perhaps comparable to breaking up with drug addicts (or at least with the withdrawal symptoms of smokers), thoughts always return to the fact that you want to practice yoga, it’s impossible to concentrate on something then a friend and use up the accumulated energy in another direction is a serious signal that cannot be ignored. Yoga is for man, not man for yoga! There are two possible options (depending on your mental structure): fully engage with this practice (at least for a while) and begin to engage in some other type of activity (do not forget that self-development is not only magical-esoteric) or significantly reduce the intensity of the load, leaving the necessary minimum, while also focusing on something else.
Tips are extremely simple, aren’t they? However, it is they who will help you correct mistakes if they arise in your practice. Tested on personal experience!
