12 tips on how to change your attitude to physical activity
If it is better for you to take out a bucket of garbage from the house, than to do physical exercises, you should know that you are not alone in such a desire. Millions of people find millions of reasons not to go jogging or other sports. Stop thinking about physical exercises as something planned, one that needs special clothes, and take them as fun and easy activities.
1. Wear loose clothing.
If you do not need to dress formally, wear sneakers and a tracksuit, or yoga pants. This simple advice will help you feel the freedom of movement. At any moment when you need to bend over, reach out to something or jump, you can do it easily. In tight jeans or high-heeled shoes you will not feel such freedom of movement.
2. Take the sports equipment from your children
Acknowledge that every time a trampoline, a children’s slide or a scooter hits your eyes, you are thinking “not to try it, by chance, and to yourself”. Whether on the playground, or in your yard – listen to your desire to “play” exactly when it arises. Let’s say you take a jump rope and jump as much as 10 minutes (not necessarily without a break). And what do we have as a result? You burned so many calories, as if you ran five kilometers! But do not think about it, just jump while you can.
3. Faster parking
The next time you come to a crowded parking lot, save your time and do not be nervous by reeling in circles in search of free space at the entrance to the store or office. Put the car in the nearest free space. Yes, have a little walk, but the walk will be useful for the body. All the same, it will take less time than the hunt for a more “convenient” option for you parking.
4. Rise without hands
We get up from the chair many times a day. From now on, make it a rule to rise without the help of hands. Extend your arms to the height of your shoulders (the gluteus muscles and abdominal muscles contract), and rise. This may seem like a minor movement, but certain parts of your body will receive a warm-up every day.
5. Listen to your favorite rhythmic music.
Turn on your favorite music, and your head will begin to sway rhythmically. And if you also have a good mood, the movements will resemble a dance – a wonderful way to raise the heart rate and burn calories. That is why zumba fitness classes (dance fitness) are so popular today. Stuck in traffic? Turn on the radio and see how you can dance while sitting!
6. Wash your dishes productively.
Brushing your teeth or washing dishes is a great occasion to stretch your legs. Standing at the sink, take one leg to the side, strain your gluteal muscles, and stand like that for 30 seconds. Then make the same movement with the other leg. Continue to repeat these pendulum movements while you wash the plates, and your back will be in good shape.
7. Discard escalators
Yes, they are very convenient, but escalators in shopping centers and cinemas can bring more inconvenience than good. Moving at the speed of a snail, crowd, hustle, breathing in the back of each other’s head – you will probably be more pleasant (and good for health) to use the stairs. Videle abandon the elevators.
8. Buy a pedometer
If there is a device that motivates people more than others, then this is a simple inexpensive pedometer. The knowledge of the number of steps you take per day motivates well. At first, you can only look at the screen in the evening, but you will not have time to look back and you will want to “beat” yesterday’s record. And then, it can lead to regular workouts, and you will love it.
9. Communicate in motion
When you play an active sport with a friend or in a group, it’s more like communication than training. Go on a walking tour, organize a game of football, go rollerblading in the schoolyard, or simply stroll through the park. You will be so busy that you will not notice how many calories burned.
10. Be a tourist in your city
Everyone who has at least once during the holidays felt what it is like to wake up in the morning with a pleasant crease in the legs. When you go to the unknown places of your hometown, you do not notice the distances. Open a guide to your city (or nearby), take friends and play tourists!
11. Count to ten.
Many people mistakenly believe that it makes no sense to burden yourself if you run for less than an hour or swing the press less than 50 times. In fact, the best way to inculcate the exercise habit is to set yourself smaller, more accessible goals. If you need to kill a few minutes, do only 10 jumps like “legs together, legs apart”, or 10 squats, or lift legs 10 times. Who knows, the number 10 may seem too easy and you want to increase the load.
12. Take a walk on foot for a reason
Perhaps you need a reason to play sports, more important than your health (although, what could be more important?).
